Sussex Street

Sussex Street
Sussex Street (Craig Carlyle Clarke)

Four blocks long; east from Grider Street between Fernhill Avenue and Litchfield Avenue to intersection with Wyoming Avenue.

Red brick.

Condition: The block between Grider and Durham is in fair condition, with close to 20 large asphalt patches and one brick patch. The three block stretch from Durham Avenue to Wyoming is in good condition.

The intersection of Sussex and Durham, which is also brick, has an interesting change of pattern. A large triangle with a herringbone "seam" extends outward from the end of Durham Avenue almost the entire width of Sussex Street. This is the most unique and dramatic pattern change seen so far.
